2023 Minnesota Meltdown

The 2023 Minnesota Meltdown took place October 6 and 7 in Minneapolis at the Augsburg Ice Arena. The 2023 iteration featured a new double elimination tournament structure, a double elimination. In the first round of games, Kelly Lake beat the Flames, C&L beat the Chiefs, Met X beat the Wolves, and Legion beat Ice Mafia. Kelly Lake defeated C&L and Met X defeated Legion in the winner’s side of the bracket.  In the loser’s bracket, the Chiefs beat the Flames and the Wolves beat Ice Mafia. C&L followed up their first loss by beating the Wolves and Legion beat the Chiefs to complete the final four teams still alive in the tournament. Kelly Lake and Met X squared off as the last two undefeated teams and Met X came out on top.  Kelly Lake rebounded with a win over Legion and would now have to beat Met X twice to win the tournament. Met X only needed the first game and won the 2023 Meltdown 3-0 over Kelly Lake.
